How to convert running pace and speed
Km pace to mile pace
Multiply seconds per kilometre by 1.609344 to get seconds per mile. A pace of 5:00/km is 300 seconds × 1.609344 = 482.8 seconds per mile, or about 8:03/mile.
Running pace to km/h
Divide 60 by your pace in decimal minutes per kilometre. At 5:00/km, speed is 60 ÷ 5 = 12 km/h. For 5:30/km, use 5.5 minutes, giving about 10.91 km/h.
Km/h to mph and m/s
Divide km/h by 1.609344 for miles per hour, or by 3.6 for metres per second. A speed of 12 km/h is approximately 7.46 mph or 3.33 m/s.
